Guess Who's Coming To Los Angeles?

The world of music is about to get a little smaller... and a LOT more interesting.

In a mere 33 days from today (10/12/2012), international musical royalty will hold court at the El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles, CA.  I say "musical royalty", because his lead-in single for his previous album was called "Le Roi des Ombres" (translated from French to English: The King of Shadows).  America, get ready to meet Matthieu Chedid, aka -M-; he's a multi-instrumentalist, composer, singer, producer, session player, etc, etc...

Why, yes... that IS the voice of experience.  I've seen Matthieu Chedid live a few time... okay, more than a few times. This will be my 11th time. Yes, I might be a bit partial... just go with me on this, okay?

Taken 7/10/2009 in Quebec QC, Canada after my second -M- concert. Ah, memories... memories...

The occasion of this concert is a preview of coming attractions - Matthieu has a new CD coming out in November of 2012, and his first single from this endeavor is called "Mojo"... I'm looking forward to hearing that one live, because it rocks - literally!

Just in case you'd like to hear it, here's a link to Matthieu Chedid's official site - the song's on auto play, so it's a start.  Mojo by -M- Matthieu Chedid

Of course, when there's an album there's the promise of a tour... I'll keep you updated.

Alors on danse

Duke Orsino:
If music be the food of love, play on,
Give me excess of it; that surfeiting,
The appetite may sicken, and so die.

Twelfth Night Act 1, scene 1, 1–3

If music be the food of love... then I would like to propose indulging in a tasting tour of the world music scene. The spicy, the sweet, the exotic; I offer all of this to you. All I ask is for you to bring an adventurous musical pallet and an open mind. Even if you don't understand the language, there's still something to be appreciated in the flow of the melody and the instrumental arrangement.

Come with me and find a different drum.
